After a lot of hard work behind the scenes by Leah Pullen, the day came for us to travel as a team to Sheffield to attend the 2025 County Team Championships. With swimmers, coaches, officials and TMs aboard, we set off just after 9.30 on Saturday morning. Middlesex County Water Polo are delighted to announce that their U14 team have been crowned Inter-Counties Champions, following a series of outstanding performances at yesterday’s tournament. The Middlesex side remained unbeaten throughout the competition, recording the following results: Middlesex 7 – 2 Kent Middlesex 6 – 3 Surrey Middlesex 5 – 4 Kent Middlesex 5 – 3 Surrey The final ranking placed Middlesex in 1st place, with Surrey 2nd and Kent 3rd. Congratulations to all those who attended the London Region Open Water event held at the Docklands Sailing & Watersports Centre on Sunday July 6th. Swimmers representing a number of Middlesex clubs present performed above and beyond expectations and were duly rewarded with medals from both London Swimming and the Middlesex County Association. It was slightly unfortunate that the last race on the programme was affected in it's closing stages by the arrival of a rather violent thunderstorm but I hope that this did not spoil the enjoyment clearly being shown...
On Sunday, 15 June 2025 (Father's Day), Middlesex County ASA hosted the Len Badcock Memorial Para Meet for the 9th year. The meet was set up in memory of Len who left the County a legacy in his Will. Barnet Copthall Leisure Centre hosted the meet and welcomed 29 swimmers from 19 clubs from across the Country. There were some amazing swims and a good time was had by everyone who attended. Please find available Safeguarding Courses HERE NEW Swim England Foundation Safeguarding Course for Adults This free online training session has been designed to give a basic understanding of safeguarding, welfare and best practice for adults within an aquatic environment. The course is aimed at parents, guardians or those who volunteer in a role that does not require a DBS and want to improve their understanding of the topic.
The process for J2 training sign-up has now changed. Potential candidates should visit the following link: https://www.swimming.org/sport/become-swimming-judge-level-2/ Once you have registered and paid the fee, Swim England in Loughborough will issue the workbooks. The candidate’s profile will then be updated to show them as a 'J2 in Training.' Their details will also be shared with County Coordinators, who will arrange the necessary courses as appropriate.
New Poolside Passes Policy 2025 Middlesex has made some important changes regarding how Coach Passes and Team Manager Passes will be handled. Starting in 2025, passes must be applied for on a per-meet basis, ensuring all supporting staff have the required passes to access the poolside during competitions. Eligibility: All coaches, team managers, and chaperones who wish to be on the poolside during events must hold a valid pass in accordance with Swim England’s Team Manager, Coach, and Chaperone Policy.
