Introduction of County Levy

County Associations are entitled to charge the clubs in their county a levy to help support county activities.  We understand that many counties have always done this but Middlesex never has.

However, due to the dwindling support for the county development meets over the last few years, which are the meets where we traditionally raise a small amount of funds to help with the National Intercounties, the overseas trip and to offer development camps at a subsidised cost, we have made the decision to start making a small levy from 1st January 2025.

It has become clear that clubs would like to run their own meets to raise funds, and we have no issue with that.  In fact, we have trained hundreds of officials to help clubs do just that.  However, if we stop providing development meets, which is what a lot of clubs have said they would like us to do, we have removed the only meets which generate any income.  With an ever decreasing bank balance, the Executive cannot let the County get into a precarious position financially, therefore this step has now been agreed.

We hope you appreciate we have done this for the good of the County Association in the long term.  It should not have a big impact on clubs.  The levy will be £25 per club plus £2 per member.

During our research many counties that we spoke to were very surprised we have never done this before, but now it’s time, we have to act to support county aquatics.
