County President Swims Lake WindermerePosted: 15th Aug 2007 Nuala Muir-Cochrane, the County President, finished second in the Bi-Annual Lake Windermere swim which is a British Long Distance Swimming Association event. Competitors have to swim the Lake in each direction, a distance of 21 miles, in temperatures which this year were 16 degrees centigrade or less. Her time was 10 hours 38 minutes swimming through the Saturday/Sunday night in cold, wet and windy conditions. She was supported by fellow Camden Swiss Cottage swimmers with Calum McKinlay and Susan MacLean rowing the support boat while Lucy Roper, an experienced open water swimmer was the navigator and Safety Officer. Nuala said "It was one of the hardest things I have ever done, my boat crew were brilliant they really kept me going by positive chats throughout"
