As you know Vernon has been seriously ill since last October and before and has only just been discharged from Hospital. During that time, he has obviously been unable to take on the formal duties during his year as County President and we are grateful to Charlotte Hedge for maintaining the role of President in his absence.

However, it is good news indeed to report that Vernon was well enough to present the remaining County BagCat / Youth Awards to swimmers from Camden Swiss Cottage SC at the start of their training session last Friday (23^rd July). This was the first time that Vernon had worn his Chain of Office and although having doubts that he could perform the task before he arrived, he sailed through and enjoyed every moment – as the picture shows
