As you will have heard, Vernon has been very seriously ill in hospital since
the latter part of last year. We are glad to report that his condition is improving in leaps and bounds and he will hopefully be able to leave hospital in a few week's time, after which he will continue with his therapy from home and as an outpatient.

Vernon has been active in sport for many years and the photo shows
Vernon holding the Gold Award given to him recently by the London Federation
of Sport and Recreation to mark his 30 years of continuous voluntary service
within swimming.
