Middlesex Masters team comes 3rd in the countryPosted: 12th Dec 2009 The meet, held on 15th November, was hosted by Middlesex. All eight lanes were in use, occupied by Hampshire, Sussex, Surrey, Middlesex, Oxford and N Bucks, Berks and S Bucks and Kent from the SER. We were also joined by Northamptonshire who could not be accommodated within their own region. Score updates bore witness to a back and forth competition between Sussex, last year’s winners, and Middlesex. Even by the final event, the 12 by 1 length squadron, the result was not in the bag for either county. Middlesex comfortably won that event, and also the competition for the Tony Warn Trophy, amidst much noise and excitement. Very many thanks to the team of Middlesex helpers, to George doing the announcements and Kath for her last minute offer to stand in as Team Manager – a difficult job performed beautifully. Most thanks of course go to everyone who swam superbly. Let’s aim to win it next year.
